Helpful Links

Whether you’re ready to apply or still testing the waters with a tour, we’re here for you. Here are some helpful links to assist you on your journey.

Students in the Engineering program receive a broad education that includes both technical and professional skills needed for modern engineering practice. Students develop a core foundation of technical engineering, problem solving and design skills cross-cutting all engineering disciplines, take courses in many different areas and engage in interdisciplinary design projects.

The Doane engineering program provides a framework in which students apply engineering and project management principles to various fields, synthesizing knowledge from physical and social sciences, mathematical and scientific reasoning, business and industrial fundamentals, and artistic and cultural relevance.

Doane’s engineering program exposes students to authentic, real-world problems where they collaboratively frame, ideate, propose, implement and evaluate solutions. Students engage in three semester-long design courses and a three-semester capstone project where they're required to self-learn, design, analyze and construct solutions to problems across the multiple industries connected to engineering. Students learn how to critically assess existing and potential technologies. The critical-thinking strategies, project management and quality control techniques they also learn are widely used in many areas of industry and commerce.
